Community Service

For those looking to volunteer through the school or other community service programs, you will have the opportunity to choose what type of volunteer work you participate in. All volunteer time must be done during open hours. See Volunteer Activities for a list of options. Below are the requirements for volunteering at our shelter.

Volunteer waiver

  • Bring any documents or list of requirements that need to be filled out by staff or the Director
  • Sign a waiver
    • Anyone aged 14 to 17 years will need a parent to sign
  • Not under the influence of drugs or alcohol – being under the influence places you and others at high risk of injury

We support a positive environment for our staff, visitors, and volunteers

We ask that everyone be respectful to each other. We do not support negative and toxic behaviors. We ask that volunteers help us support a positive environment. Our job is complicated and difficult to understand at times. Volunteers will be expected to not interfere with or disparage staff and their duties. If there is ever a concern or question, please bring it directly and privately to the Director so they may address it appropriately.
